Two reliable computational methods pertaining to steady state substrate concentration of an immobilized enzyme system

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
A mathematical model of an immobilized enzyme system with Michaelis-Menten mechanism for an irreversible reaction is discussed. The model is developed on the basis of diffusion equations containing a nonlinear term related to Michaelis-Menten (M-M ...

The Leveraged Wavelets and Galerkin-Wavelets Methods

open access: yes, 2007
We present a scheme that leverage orthonormal or biorthogonal wavelets to a new system of biorthogonal wavelets. The leveraged biorthogonal wavelets will have some nice properties.

Generalized Lagrangian Coordinates for Transport and Two-Phase Flows in Heterogeneous Anisotropic Porous Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We show how Lagrangian coordinates provide an effective representation of how difficult non-linear, hyperbolic transport problems in porous media can be dealt with. Recalling Lagrangian description first, we then derive some basic but remarkable properties

Wavelet methods for the numerical analysis of oscillatory integrals

open access: yes, 2004
We have worked with three families of functions known for their localisation in space and in frequency: the wavelet basis, the wavelet packet basis, and the Malvar local cosine basis. We have constructed and implemented two algorithms: --- for the equation $\Delta(u)+\1e^(c*u)=f$ with $f$ having a tough singularity, we have proved sharp complexity ...

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Biorthogonal-Wavelet-Based Method for Numerical Solution of Volterra Integral Equations [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
Framelets theory has been well studied in many applications in image processing, data recovery and computational analysis due to the key properties of framelets such as sparse representation and accuracy in coefficients recovery in the area of numerical and computational theory.

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

The vanishing role of money in the macroeconomy: An Empirical investigation based on spectral and wavelet analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The recent de-emphasizing of the role of "money" in both theoretical macroeconomics as well as in the practical conduct of monetary policy sits uneasily with the idea that inflation is a monetary phenomenon.

Effect of noise filtering on predictions : on the routes of chaos [PDF]

open access: yes
The detection of chaotic behaviors in commodities, stock markets and weather data is usually complicated by large noise perturbation inherent to the underlying system.

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.
