Three-Dimensional Simulation of High Reynolds Turbulent Flows in a Rectangular Open Channel with the Presence of a Disruptive Element (Obstacles) Transversely

open access: yesSlovak Journal of Civil Engineering, 2015
This study aims at describing a three-dimensional simulation of a turbulent flow with a high Reynolds number in a rectangular open channel with the presence of a disruptive element (obstacles) transversely.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Numerical simulation of incompressible and compressible flow. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This thesis describes the development of a numerical solution procedure which is valid for both incompressible flow and compressible flow at any Mach number.

A review study of numerical modeling of the impulse wave caused by the sliding of masses into still waters and parameters affecting it [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی و مدیریت ساخت
The phenomenon of impulse waves caused by soil mass sliding into water is one of the important issues in geotechnical and hydrodynamic engineering, which can have destructive consequences on the environment and coastal structures.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Numerical comparison between the Boltzmann and ES-BGK models for rarefied gases

open access: yes, 2000
Projet M3NRarefied gas flows obey to the Boltzmann equation, but numerical simulations of this equation are not always possible, so that simpler models have been introduced. The ES-BGK equation is one of these models.

Experimental and Numerical Investigations on the Structural Response of Precast Concrete Underpasses Subjected to Live Loads

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2013
This paper presents results of experimental and numerical investigations on the structural response of precast concrete underpasses when subjected to the effects of vehicular live loads.

Colored Visualisation for Numerical Modelling. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper scalar and vector data are visualised by suited colour scales based on perceptive and uniform colour models. Using opportune colour scales, colour information is created from the two-dimensional scalar data computed at different time steps.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
