Study on the Instability Mechanism and Grouting Reinforcement Repair of Large-Scale Underground Stopes

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
The environmental conditions due to unreasonable mining in underground stopes, the slurry diffusion mechanism in the grouting reinforcement of a stope within its influence, the causes of large-scale instability collapse, and the catastrophic stope ...

Some counterexamples related to sectorial matrices and matrix phases

open access: yesExamples and Counterexamples, 2021
A sectorial matrix is an n×nmatrix whose numerical range is contained in an open half-plane, and such matrices have many nice properties. In particular, the subset of strictly accretive matrices is a convex cone in the space of n×nmatrices, and results ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Analytical solution and numerical simulation of the liquid nitrogen freezing-temperature field of a single pipe

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Artificial liquid nitrogen freezing technology is widely used in urban underground engineering due to its technical advantages, such as simple freezing system, high freezing speed, low freezing temperature, high strength of frozen soil, and absence of ...

Developmental, Neuroanatomical and Cellular Expression of Genes Causing Dystonia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Dystonia is one of the most common movement disorders, with variants in multiple genes identified as causative. However, an understanding of which developmental stages, brain regions, and cell types are most relevant is crucial for developing relevant disease models and therapeutics.

Free Vibration of Partially Supported Cylindrical Shells

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1995
The effects of detached base length on the natural frequencies and modal shapes of cylindrical shell structures were investigated in this work. Some of the important applications for this type of problem can be found in the cracked fan and rotor blades ...

Influence of Morphological Parameters on the Flow Development within Human Airways

open access: yesFluids, 2023
Anatomical airways parameters, such as length, diameter and angles, have a strong effect on the flow dynamics. Aiming to explore the effect of variations of the bifurcation angle (BA) and carina rounding radius (CRR) of lower human airways on respiratory

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Baseline Regional Cholinergic Denervation Predicts Cognitive Trajectories in Moderate Parkinson Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...

Assessment of Skin in Patients With Systemic Sclerosis Using High‐Frequency Ultrasound and Shear Wave Elastography: A Comparative Study With Histology, Molecular, and Clinical Parameters

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Ultrasound (US) has been proposed as a potential tool for assessing skin fibrosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc). However, a large‐scale comparison of US‐based assessment with histologic markers of skin fibrosis has not been reported. We evaluated US‐based skin assessments for their face validity (differentiation between involved SSc and healthy
