Investigation of low-dissipation monotonicity-preserving scheme for direct numerical simulation of compressible turbulent flows [PDF]
© 2014 Elsevier Ltd. The influence of numerical dissipation on direct numerical simulation (DNS) of decaying isotropic turbulence and turbulent channel flow is investigated respectively by using the seventh-order low-dissipation monotonicity-preserving ...

A Numerical Scheme for Evacuation Dynamics
2020We give a stability condition for a semi–implicit numerical scheme and prove unconditional stability for an implicit scheme for a nonlinear advection – diffusion equation, meant as a model of crowd dynamics. Numerical stability is given for a wider class of equations and schemes.

Convergence of a Numerical Scheme for Stratigraphic Modeling
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2005A numerical scheme based on implicit time integration and cell centered finite volume method is proposed for stratigraphic modeling. Convergence to a weak solution is proved.

On Some Properties of KIVA Numerical Schemes
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1992AbstractIn this paper numerical schemes of the KIVA code for fluid dynamics modeling will be analyzed. In particular consistency and accuracy will be proved. Attention will be paid to the effects of the grid on the numerical properties of the schemes. Moreover, numerical examples will be given in order to show the actual influence of the choice of the ...

Numerical Entropy Production for Central Schemes
SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2004Summary: A detailed study of the numerical entropy production for both low- and high-order central schemes is carried out. Our data show that entropy production can be used to signal the presence of shocks. Moreover, once shocked cells have been identified, the spurious entropy production occurring in the remaining cells mimics the behavior of the ...
