Numerical Simulation of Vehicle Defroster Flow Field
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used in this investigation to determine the velocity field in the vicinity of vehicle windshield due to defroster flow. The analysis was performed using the CFD package STAR-CD. CFD results were obtained and compared to test data.

Numerical simulation of a free-falling oceanographic vehicle
Ocean Engineering, 1993Abstract The Sonobuoy Dynamic Simulation (SDS) computer program is designed to analyze the three-dimensional, nonlinear dynamic behavior of free-drifting cable-suspended hydrophone systems. It will also simulate other marine systems composed of series-connected cables and rigid bodies, including cable-towed bodies and autonomous vehicles.

On the numerical simulation of turbulent flows around vehicles
1988A finite element method for the simulation of Navier-Stokes flows is presented. Error estimates are available for this numerical method; they show that turbulence modelling is necessary beyond a critical Reynolds number. In the near wake of the vehicle the classical turbulence models like the k-e model are not very good because the flow is essentially ...

Software for the numerical simulation of tramcar vehicle dynamics
International Journal of Heavy Vehicle Systems, 2003In this paper, a new simulation program specifically designed for tramcar vehicles is presented. The proposed numerical model allows the most common tramcar configurations to be reproduced and the vehicle performance to be analysed in terms of combined longitudinal, lateral and vertical dynamics. A particularly detailed procedure for the calculation of

Experimental Validation of a Numerical Model for the Simulation of Tramcar Vehicle Dynamics
Volume 6: 5th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control, Parts A, B, and C, 2005Tramcar vehicles significantly differ from traditional railway vehicles both for the adopted structural configuration and design solutions and for the operating conditions. For this reason, a new numerical model specific for the analysis of tramcar dynamics has been developed by Politecnico di Milano.

Numerical Simulation of the Aerodynamics and Aerothermal Heating for a Hypersonic Vehicle
Advanced Materials Research, 2012A hypersonic forebody based on waverider and liftbody concept was presented. The configuration of a new hypersonic vehicle was designed by taking the configuration of X43A. Numerical simulation was conducted on the two-dimensional and three-dimensional models of the vehicle using CFD software of Gambit and Fluent.

Numerical simulation of viscous flows about underwater vehicles
OCEANS 2000 MTS/IEEE Conference and Exhibition. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37158), 2002The present study was undertaken to provide information for both design improvement and control system development during various stages of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) development project. The need to establish a predictive capability for the hydrodynamic (control) coefficients for an AUV presented an opportunity to apply a multiblock ...

Numerical Methods in the Simulation of Vehicle-Guideway Interaction
2004Trains and heavy trucks crossing bridges result in loads that may cause wear and damage. The damages are substantially reduced by an optimal design of bridges and vehicle suspensions. To improve the technical construction the dynamical interaction between vehicles and their guideways is analysed by computer simulations.
