DNurbs: DNA modeled with NURBS
Journal of Molecular Graphics, 1994DNurbs (dee-in-urbs) are a small number of bicubic patches wrapping each base pair in complementary DNA. NURBS, the nonuniform rational B-spline surfaces now popular in computer graphics, are employed for the patches. Control points for the surface patches are generated from the molecular surface based on canonical base pairs.

We describe a novel NURBS surface fitting method to a human face model. Our first step is to resample of the original mesh model. The next step we fit a tensor product NURBS surface to the grid points. Our method is characteristic in that we use only one patch to fit the model.

In this chapter we are going to explore some advanced modeling techniques, mostly suited for curved or wirelike structures that would prove tricky to model as a straight polygon mesh. The techniques covered in Chapter 3 are good for modeling most items, but there are times when a specialist tool makes the job easier.

NURBS is widely used in computer-aided geometry design and computer graphics for its strong representative properties. In this paper, we present a blind watermarking algorithm for NURBS surfaces.

Standard Free-Form Deformation (FFD) models built upon tensor-product B-Splines have been proved useful to model the warp between two views of a deformable scene. In this paper, we show that the standard FFD is in fact the affine projection of a threedimensional surface represented by a tensor-product B-Spline.
