Nurse teachers' constructions of reflection and reflective practice [PDF]
This article concerns the meanings that a sample of nurse teachers ascribed to the concepts of reflection and reflective practice as aspects of an undergraduate nursing curriculum. It represents one of the major findings in a qualitative study that set

Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Measures that can be used to teach critical thinking skills in nurse prescribers [PDF]
Critical thinking is a pervasive skill that involves scrutinizing, differentiating, and appraising information and reflecting on the information gained in order to make judgements and inform clinical decisions. Studies inform us of the need for agreement

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

The ripple effect in community nursing
Carers have long been a focus of health and social care policy and practice, with a clear marker being set down in the 1995 Carers (recognition and services) Act (Department of Health (DH), 1995). Since that time, a range of other policies have encouraged practitioners to consider not just the patient, but also the person providing unpaid care for them,

RNA‐related functions of BRCA2 in transcription, replication, and genome stability
Beyond its role in homologous recombination, BRCA2 regulates R‐loop homeostasis, DNA–RNA hybrid resolution, RNA polymerase II dynamics, and transcriptional activation. Disruption of any of these functions can contribute to genome instability, inflammatory signaling, and tumorigenesis. BRCA2 is a central tumor suppressor protein best known for its roles

Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.
