Short‐Term Outcomes and Cost Drivers of Emergency Surgery for Acute Abdominal Disease in Super‐Elderly Patients: A Study in the Japanese Tertiary Care Hospital

This retrospective study analyzed patients aged ≥ 85 years undergoing emergency abdominal surgery, focusing on short‐term outcomes and inpatient cost structure under the Japanese DPC system. Although major complications occurred in 19.4% of patients, more than 70% were discharged home.

Haptic In‐Sensor Computing Device Based on CNT/PDMS Nanocomposite Physical Reservoir

Using a porous carbon nanotube‐polydimethylsiloxane nanocomposite, a sensor array integrated with a physical reservoir computing paradigm capable of in‐sensor computing is demonstrated. The device is able to classify between nine objects with an accuracy above 80%, opening the possibility for low‐power sensing/computing for future robotics.

Using photovoice to understand community perceptions of firearm risks and protective factors among Asian Americans

Abstract This study used photovoice methodology to explore Asian Americans' perspectives on the root causes and protective factors of firearm violence in their communities.
