FERONIA mediates root nutating growth
The Plant Journal, 2020SUMMARYRoot nutation indicates the behavior that roots grow in a waving and skewing way due to unequal growth rates on different sides. Although a few developmental and environmental factors have been reported, genetic pathways mediating this process are obscure.

Residual nutation angle of satellites with viscous nutation dampers
Acta Astronautica, 1987Abstract The residual nutation angle of satellites with the viscous fluid dampers is one of the important indexes for designing the spinning satellites of high nutation precision. This paper will specifically discuss the reasons why the viscous dampers make the residual angle occur.

The reticle system is essentially a patter, alternately transparent and opaque regions, placed in the image plane of the optical system. The rotating reticle system has a significant limitation of loss of carrier signal for zero-tracking error. This limitation causes the tracking performance of the reticle system to deteriorate.

Abstract We have seen in Chapter 3 that not only the transition frequencies but also the transition amplitudes depend on the parameters of the spin Hamiltonian. The transition amplitudes can thus be used to determine these parameters.

Precession, Aberration, Nutation
1969In the Astronomical Ephemeris, you find for a number of bright stars the mean position and also the apparent position. (Since 1957 these last data are published in a separate volume.) The apparent positions vary in the course of the year. What is the reason? Or better: What are the reasons?

This chapter aims to explore and describe the physiological aspects of oscillating growth patterns in rapidly elongating plant organs, such as roots, hypocotyls , shoots, branches and flower stalks. After a brief description of the phenomena, the theories and models proposed to explain circumnutation are reported, focusing largely on the internal ...

Abstract. Re‐analysis of published data on the gecocurvature and nutation of the primary root of maize is presented. This analysis demonstrates clear evidence of nutalional oscillations occurring during georesponse. The importance of this evidence in relation to theories of nutation mechanism is discussed.
