Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Herbivory can affect the soil microbiome, creating legacies that affect plant resistance, but how these effects vary by feeding guild and the plant traits involved remain underexplored. We tested how soil legacies created by a leaf‐chewing caterpillar (Spodoptera exigua)

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Home‐field advantage (HFA) describes the tendency of litter to decompose accelerated in its native habitat than in other environments. Although the interactions between soil fauna and microbial communities during litter decomposition are well documented, the specific ...

Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract It is unclear how plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) affect soil multifunctionality (SMF) and production function (SPF) along planting densities. To address this issue, Bacillus licheniformis (PGPR) was inoculated in maize fields with five planting densities ...

Intraspecific variation in prey quality affects the consumption rates of top predators
This study reveals overlooked intraspecific variation in prey quality and its influence on predator energy budgets. By identifying key ecological drivers, we emphasize the need to integrate such variability into bioenergetic models to improve predictions of predator foraging and ecosystem responses to environmental change.

Adolescence is an expansive, dynamic period within the life course, covering a broad age range (10‐24 years) and a cascade of biological and cultural changes. However, biocultural approaches to adolescence have been less well developed within existing research compared to child and adult counterparts.
