Low temperature plasma-treated nylon fabrics

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2002
Abstract Nylon 6 fabrics were treated with low temperature plasma (LTP) with three non-polymerizing gases: (i) oxygen, (ii) argon and (iii) tetrafluoromethane. After plasma treatment, the properties of the fabric, including surface morphology, low-stress mechanical properties, air permeability and thermal properties, were investigated.

Biodeterioration of coated nylon fabric

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2000
Biodegradation characteristics of nylon fabric coated with fluorocarbon polymer (oil and water repellent) and thiourea-formaldehyde (fire retardant) were studied. The fabric was exposed to soil burial, air exposure, and standard culture media for various intervals of time and evaluated for changes in physicomechanical properties, oil and water ...

Nylon fabric reinforced natural rubber compound

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Rubber fabric coated is a unique rubber-textile composite, in which technical textile acts as reinforcing material and strength providing material. In rubber textile composite, rubber to fabric adhesion plays the most critical role for determining assembly process and ultimate strength of product.

Fabrication of nylon/fullerene polymer memory

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Two terminal Organic memories in passive matrix array form with device structure, Al/Nylon/ (Nylon+C60)/Nylon/ Al are fabricated. The current-voltage measurements showed hysteresis and the devices are thoroughly characterized for write-read-erase-read cycles.

Nylon impression fabric—acoustical application

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1990
Nylon impression fabric is used as a cover fabric for an acoustical material (e.g., 1 inch thick polyester foam) substrate in an environment--such as a textile workplace environment having textile machinery such as texturing air jets--to provide for good sound absorption while being easily cleanable, and having other desirable properties that lead to ...

49—Heat-Setting of Nylon Fabrics

Journal of the Textile Institute Transactions, 1955
A method of measuring the degree of setting in nylon fabrics by measuring the creasing angle of the wet fabric after creasing in water is described. A water temperature of 60°C was found to be the most suitable. The effect of various setting treatments was measured by this method.
