Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2005
AbstractHigh‐aliphatic‐content linear nylons were produced with an 18‐carbon diacid with diamines containing both odd and even methylene segments. The resulting polymers were characterized with viscosimetric, thermal, and spectroscopic techniques. Solid‐state 15N NMR was used to determine the nylon crystalline form present.

Nylon Surface Modification: 2. Nylon-Supported Composite Films
Langmuir, 2006We have developed techniques for the introduction of reactive functional groups to nylon surfaces via site-specific reactions targeting at the naturally abundant amide repeating units on the surface. In this report, we describe the fabrication of nylon-supported composite surfaces using the most efficient modification methods we have developed.

Biocatalytic nylon nanofibrous membranes
Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2010Nylon-6 nanofibrous membranes (NFM) have been prepared, characterized and used to build-up electrochemical biosensing devices. The assembly and the functioning of biocatalytic NFM are described in connection with the physical and the covalent immobilization of glucose oxidase for the detection of glucose.

Nylon and nylon blend nanotubes and nanorods
Journal of Nanoparticle Research, 2007Nylon nanorods and nanotubes (200 nm diameter) were fabricated by the membrane wetting technique (solvent and melt wetting) from a range of nylons (6; 6,6; 6,9; 6,10; 6,12; 11; 12, 6(3)T) and nylon blended with different dyes (Nylon Cast Blue, Nylon 6/6 Black) or with molybdenum disulfide (Nylon cast MDS).

Nylon 66 and nylon 6 are two important members of a group of polymers known as polyamides. The structural units of a polyamide are joined together by an amide, -NH-CO-, group. A polyamide manufactured from aliphatic monomer(s) is commonly designated as nylon.
