Water-Soluble Soft Nylons: Novel Class of Soft Matter Exhibiting LCST-type Thermo-Responsiveness

open access: yes
High crystallinity and low solubility are inherent characteristics of polyamides. Research efforts have primarily focused on exploring their bulk properties as fibers, with less emphasis on their solution properties.

Fallschirmspringen, Paragliding und Wingsuit‐Fliegen: Im freien Fall

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 74-78, March 2026.

Synthesis and solution processing of nylon-5 ferroelectric thin films : the renaissance of odd-nylons? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Among odd-nylons, nylon-5 exhibits the highest remanent polarization and is thus a desirable material for many applications of ferroelectric polymers. However, nylon-5 has never been used as a ferroelectric material, because the synthesis of nylon-5 and ...

Gradient all-nanostructured aerogel fibers for enhanced thermal insulation and mechanical properties

open access: yesNature Communications
Lightweight, nanoporous aerogel fibers are crucial for personal thermal management and specialized heat protection. However, wet-spinning methods, exemplified by aramid aerogels, inevitably form a dense outer layer, significantly reducing the volume ...

Liquid Phase Selective Hydrogenation of Phenol to Cyclohexanone over Electrospun Pd/PVDF-HFP Catalyst

open access: yesFibers, 2019
Cyclohexanone is an important industrial intermediate in the synthesis of materials such as nylons, but preparing it efficiently through one-step hydrogenation of phenol is hindered by over-reduction to cyclohexanol.

Mechanical, Thermal, and Morphological Properties of PA/NBR TPVs: Influence of Processing Conditions and Recyclability

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 8, February 20, 2026.
Dynamic vulcanization at higher shear rates refines PA/NBR morphology, reduces domain size, and maintains mechanical performance after reprocessing. ABSTRACT Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) of polyamide 6 and nitrile butadiene rubber (PA/NBR) present excellent mechanical properties but traditionally suffer from performance loss during re‐melt ...
