Solution Properties of Substituted o-Cresol Resins

側鎖の異なる3種類のオルトクレゾール樹脂 (Ac-OCR, Oc-OCR, La-OCR) を合成し, テトラヒドロフラン (THF) およびメチルイソブチルケトン (MIBK) /n-オクタン混合溶媒中での希薄溶液粘度測定より溶液中の分子形態に及ぼす側鎖の影響を検討した. THF中では三つの樹脂のうちLa-OCRが異なった挙動をとり, 側鎖を有するオルトクレゾール樹脂の分子形態は, 主鎖のフェノール骨格により決まるが側鎖の影響も無視できないことが明らかとなった. La-OCRの場合, n-オクタン中では主鎖であるフェノール骨格が内部に凝集しアルキル側鎖が外側に張り出すミセル類似の分子形態をとると考えられた.

Asymmetric synthesis of antimalarial yingzhaosu C was achieved in 4–5 steps by asymmetric Grignard synthesis of (R)‐gossonorol followed by novel enantiospecific hydroperoxidation. We report a concise asymmetric synthesis of antimalarial yingzhaosu C in 59% ee.

Kinetics and adsorption comparative study on the photocatalytic degradation of o-, m- and p-cresol [PDF]

The kinetics and adsorption aspects of the photocatalytic degradation of three cresolic isomers were studied in aqueous suspension containing TiO2 (Degussa P-25). The Langmuir–Hinshelwood model (L–H) was applied to the kinetic results.
