Incidence and mechanisms of aminoglycoside resistance inPseudomonas aeruginosa serotype O11 isolates
Infection, 1995Mechanisms of resistance to five aminoglycoside antibiotics: gentamicin (G), tobramycin (T), netilmicin (N), amikacin (A) and isepamicin (I), were assessed in 16 clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa serotype O11, originating from five hospitals in Bratislava. All isolates were in vitro highly resistant to all mentioned aminoglycoside antibiotics

Structural and dielectric properties of Pb5(Ge,Si)O11
Pramana, 1992The ferroelectric lead germanate (Pb5Ge3O11) and its isomorphous compounds are important because of their uses as pyroelectric and electro-optic devices. Comparison of inter-planar d-spacings of Pb5Ge3−xSixO11 (x=0, 0.3, 0.7 and 1.00) suggests that there is no change in basic structure of Pb5Ge3−xSixO11 when Si is substituted for Ge in small quantity ...

Temperature dependent neutron powder diffraction study of Bi3(GaSb2)O11
Solid State Communications, 1998Abstract The structure of Bi3(GaSb2)O11 as a function of temperature (10≤T≤295 K) has been refined from powder neutron diffraction data using a Rietveld analysis. No structural phase transitions were observed in the range 10–295 K. The structure of Bi3(GaSb2)O11 was refined in space group Pn 3 .

Escherichia coli O11 belongs to Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), which can cause food-borne disease, hemorrhagic colitis, and hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) in humans. Because of its character of specificity, the O-antigen gene cluster provides the best material for the selection of molecular markers which can be used for rapid ...

O11. Variation on the theme of chromatin assembly
Differentiation, 2010Inheritance and maintenance of the DNA sequence and its organization into chromatin are central for eukaryotic life. To orchestrate DNA-replication and -repair processes in the context of chromatin is a challenge. Factors have been isolated from cell extracts that stimulate early steps in chromatin assembly in vitro .

Ferroelectric Optical Rotation Domains in Single-Crystal Pb5 Ge3 O11
Applied Physics Letters, 1972Well-defined 180° ferroelectric domains of hexagonal shape with reversible optical rotary power are observable in Pb5Ge3O11 with nicols off the crossed position; sharp domain walls appear with crossed nicols. The switching time is given by tα(E − E0)−α, where E0≈3 kV/cm and α ≈ 1.5.

Dielectric properties of Pb(Mg1/4Zn1/4Nb1/2)O11/4
Pramana, 1993Polycrystalline samples of Pb(Mg1/4Zn1/4Nb1/2)O11/4 have been synthesized by high temperature columbite precursor solid state reaction technique. Using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, compound formation in single phase cubic structure was observed and XRD analysis provided preliminary structural data. Detailed studies of dielectric properties of the

Pulsed laser deposition of Bi4Cu2xV2(1-x)O11 thin films
Journal of Crystal Growth, 1995The growth of Bi4Cu2xV2(1-x)O11 thin films by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) is reported for the first time. Samples with x = 0.1 are grown on polycrystalline BeO and (100) MgO substrates. Films show lattice parameters a = b = 3.926 A and c = 15.491 A.
