Age of the O18 site, Hawai'i

Archaeology in Oceania, 2010
ABSTRACT Seven new 14C age determinations on short‐lived materials yield a sound evidential basis for the chronology of the O18 site on O'ahu Island, Hawai'i, long thought to be an early settlement site. Calibration within a model‐based, Bayesian framework indicates that the site was established in AD 1040–1219, some 260–459 years after the current ...

Structure of the O18 antigen from Acinetobacter baumannii

Carbohydrate Research, 1997
The polymeric O antigen was obtained from lipopolysaccharide extracted from isolated, defatted cell walls of the reference strain for Acinetobacter baumannii serogroup O18. Monosaccharide analyses and NMR spectra established that the polymer had a regular structure with a repeating unit based on residues of D-galactose (2), N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (1),

Angular correlation measurements in the O18(p, p′ γ)O18 reaction

Nuclear Physics, 1965
The levels at 3.92, 4.45, 5.09 and 5.25 MeV in O18 have been investigated using p-γ angular correlation measurements in the O18(p,p′γ)O18 reaction. The spin of the level at 4.45 MeV has been established as one. This level was found to decay 64±5% to the 3.63 MeV 0+ level and 36±5% to the 1.98 MeV 2+ level, with an upper limit of 4% placed on the ground

O18. Oxidative stress in preeclampsia

Pregnancy Hypertension: An International Journal of Women's Cardiovascular Health, 2015
Introduction Preeclampsia (PE) is characterized by hypertension and proteinuria that affects 5–10% of pregnancies. Risk factors of PE cause the release of reactive oxygen species, which lead to increased vascular cell proliferation and hypertrophy, apoptosis, inflammation and extracellular matrix remodeling.

A study of the reactions O17(He3,α0), O18(He3,α0) and O18(He3,α1)

Nuclear Physics, 1965
Abstract The angular distribution of the alpha particles from each of the reactions O 17 ( He 3 , α 0 ) O 16 , O 17 ( He 3 ,α 0 ), O 18 ( He 3 ,α 0 ) and O 18 ( He 3 ,α 1 ) O 17∗ has been measured over an angular range of 0–160° at thirteen values of ...
