Electrical current mode (AC, DC, Pulse DC) affects both anodic scale inhibition as well as cathodic enhanced scaling. Abstract Calcium carbonate is one of the most common scaling minerals. In this paper we have used different electrical current modes (direct current [DC], pulsed DC, and alternating current [AC]) to control the amount, morphology, and ...

A two‐stage solution method for the design problem of medium‐thick plates in steel plants
The design of the mother plate is an important part in the production process of a medium‐thick plate, which includes the combination of sub‐plates and the size design of plate. In this study, a multi‐objective model for medium‐thick plate design is proposed based on the 2D bin packing model.

Time-Reversal-Violating Schiff Moment of 199Hg
We calculate the Schiff moment of the nucleus 199Hg, created by pi-N-N vertices that are odd under parity (P) and time-reversal (T). Our approach, formulated in diagrammatic perturbation theory with important core-polarization diagrams summed to all ...

α‐d‐2′‐Deoxyadenosine, the anomer of the canonical nucleoside β‐d‐2′‐deoxyadenosine, is a γ‐irradiation product of DNA and a constituent of anomeric DNA. The single‐crystal X‐ray analysis reveals the formation of two conformers with unusual conformational parameters for α‐nucleosides.

This is the largest study examining the incidence of umbilical cord prolapse (UCP) and its risk factors in labors when an amniotomy is used and those with a spontaneous rupture of membranes. The incidence of UCP was similar for both labors with an amniotomy and those with a spontaneous rupture of membranes.

Lipid Metabolism in Pregnancy Women with Hypothyroidism and Potential Influence on Pregnancy Outcome
Thyroid hormone (TH) is essential for maintaining normal physiological processes during pregnancy, including the metabolism of energy materials in both the mother and fetus and the growth and development of fetal bone and nervous system. TH can act on the liver, fat, and other tissues and organs to participate in lipid synthesis and breakdown through ...
