Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Avaliação de antígenos de Cysticercus cellulosae no imunodiagnóstico da cisticercose humana pela hemaglutinação indireta Evaluation of antigens from Cysticercus cellulosae for immunodiagnosis of human cysticercosis by hemagglutination test

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1984
Os Autores avaliaram os antígenos de Cysticercus cellulosae para o imunodiagnóstico da cistieercose humana pela reação de hemaglutinação indireta.

ABO BLOOD GROUP SYSTEM: IN THE CONTEXT OF HUMAN DISEASES [PDF]

open access: yesKanem Journal of Medical Sciences, 2018
Background: The expression of ABO blood group antigens on red cell surface and a variety of human cells, tissues and fluids is well documented. Studies in the recent times have reported association between these blood group antigens and some disorders in

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Western and dot immunoblotting analysis of viral antigens and antibodies: application to murine hepatitis virus. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Viral proteins were separated by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and transferred quantitatively to nitrocellulose by electroblotting in SDS-containing buffer.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Fusion protein-based COVID-19 vaccines exemplified by a chimeric vaccine based on a single fusion protein (W-PreS-O)

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
In this article we discuss characteristics of fusion protein-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. We focus on recombinant vaccine antigens comprising fusion proteins consisting of combinations of SARS-CoV-2-derived antigens or peptides or combinations of SARS-CoV ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
