Scaling of interpretation with OBIA with backscatter data
, 2017 Multibeam Echosounder systems provide two datasets: a bathymetry grid and backscatter imagery. These can be combined together to produce an interpretation of these data using OBIA. The resulting interpretation divides the data into classes of similar attributes.

To support scalable monitoring, this study establishes a harmonized benchmark of YOLOv5, YOLOv6, YOLOv8, and YOLOv10 for automated detection of tailings dams using high‐resolution satellite imagery.

The extraction of coastline using OBIA and GIS
The International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2010 The aim of the paper was to test the possibility of using object based image analyses of Landsat satellite data for worldwide assessment of sea coast changes over time. The coastline in this project was defined as the seaward margin of dunes or land vegetation. The proposed method uses Red and IRed channels of Landsat images for segmentation.
