Bio-ontology construction using object-oriented paradigm
12th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC'05), 2005In this paper we propose a bio-ontology construction method using object-oriented paradigm. This method is simple yet shows powerful semantic expressiveness. The sophisticated bio-ontology is built by an intuitive manner reasoning subtle semantics inherently existing between complicated and informative terms.

The Object-Oriented Design Knowledge Ontology
2011It has been a long time since the object-oriented (OO) paradigm appeared. From that moment, designers have accumulated much knowledge in design and construction of OO systems. Patterns are the most refined OO design knowledge. However, there are many others kinds of knowledge than are not yet classified and formalized.

AN ONTOLOGY FOR UNDERSTANDING AND APPLYING OBJECT-ORIENTED DESIGN KNOWLEDGE
International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, 2007After years of experience in object-oriented design, software engineers have accumulated a great deal of knowledge in the design and construction of object-oriented systems: important contributions to this field including principles, heuristics, lessons learned, bad smells, refactorings, and so on, with the resultant major improvements in software ...

Construction of ontologies from object-oriented database models
Integrated Computer-Aided Engineering, 2011The Semantic Web aims at creating ontology-based and machine-processable Web content, and thus the success and proliferation of the Semantic Web depends on quickly and cheaply constructing Web ontologies. Currently, huge amounts of data are stored in database systems. Therefore, constructing ontologies by extracting domain knowledge from databases will

Ontology Based Object-Oriented Domain Modeling
Journal of Database Management, 2009An important step in developing the requirements for an information system is analyzing the application domain. In this step, conceptual models are used for representing an application domain. However, while languages for software design are available and widely used, no generally accepted language exists for conceptual modeling. This work suggests the

OOC-O: A Reference Ontology on Object-Oriented Code
2019With the rise of polyglot programming, different programming languages with different constructs have been combined in the same software development projects. However, to our knowledge, no axiomatization demonstrating the existential commitments of a language have been presented, nor is there effort to adopt a consensual conceptualization between ...

JOPA: Stay Object-Oriented When Persisting Ontologies
2015Accessing OWL ontologies from IT systems can bring many problems unfamiliar to developers used to the more common relational storage approach. These problems stem from the dynamic nature of ontologies, their open-world character and expressiveness.

Ontology of Object-Oriented Database Evolution
1998The need for expanded data representation and semantic capture resulted in the emergence of object-oriented databases. Representation of relationships beyond inheritance relationships, provision of separate development and working environments, and control of evolution for developing database systems are areas not yet adequately addressed.
