Object recognition and object identification are multifaceted cognitive operations that require various brain regions to synthesize and process information. Prior research has evidenced the activity of both visual and temporal cortices during these tasks.

Object Recognition Based on Object's Identity for Cooking Recognition Task [PDF]
In this paper, we address a novel task "cooking recognition task". Cooking recognition task is to keep recognizing a cooking action of a cook and the target food product of the action at any time of the cooking. The target object of the recognition could change its visual feature completely by peeling, cutting, and mixed with others during the task ...

Polyhedral object recognition by indexing [PDF]
In computer vision, the indexing problem is the problem of recognizing a few objects in a large database of objects while avoiding the help of the classical image-feature-to-object-feature matching paradigm. In this paper we address the problem of recognizing 3-D polyhedral objects from 2-D images by indexing.

Cholinergic regulation of object recognition memory
Object recognition memory refers to a basic memory mechanism to identify and recall various features of objects. This memory has been investigated by numerous studies in human, primates and rodents to elucidate the neuropsychological underpinnings in ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Cognitive Aspects of Object Recognition – Recognition of Objects by Texture
AbstractTo study human image cognition is more than ever an important topic since the number of vision-based materials has been increased over the years. Texture seems to be a powerful tool to describe the appearances of objects. Therefore, very flexible and powerful texture descriptors are of importance that allow to recognize the texture and to ...

ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

On Recognition of Object Categories [PDF]
A high level representation of polyhedral scenes in terms of planes and corresponding coplanar sets of 3D line segments is used to develop a method for identifying categories of objects and features in the scenes. Plane intersections are used to establish links between all the planes that correspond to the visible surface of a particular object.

Determinants of object recognition
We demonstrate that performance on an object recognition task can be explained in terms of observer-specific perceptual profiles. These profiles are derived from a battery of tests, including the effects of stereo, texture, outline (occluding contour), and motion cues on amplitude judgements of curved surfaces.
