Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Intent to Contract [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
There is a remarkable difference between black-letter contract laws of the United States and England. In England, the existence of a contract is supposedly conditioned on the parties\u27 intent to be legally bound, while section 21 of the Second ...

3D Bioprinted Fat‐Myocardium Model Unravels the Role of Adipocyte Hypertrophy in Atrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A human‐derived 3D bioprinted fat–myocardium model is developed to investigate how adipocyte hypertrophy drives atrial dysfunction in obesity. Palmitate‐induced adipocyte hypertrophy promotes adipose dysfunction that impairs atrial cardiomyocyte metabolism and electrophysiology through both paracrine and direct interactions. This platform recapitulates

On the Existence and Efficiency of Equilibria Under Liability Rules [PDF]

open access: yes
While the focus of mainstream economic analysis of liability rules remains on negligence liability, recently some legal scholars have argued for the sharing of liability.

A Modular DNAzyme for Precise Visualization and Intervention of Alternative Splicing Isoforms in Live Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Stringent dUPlex‐activated Error Robust (SUPER) DNAzyme system enables real‐time imaging of alternative mRNA splicing (e.g., Bcl‐xL/Bcl‐xS) in living cells via target‐triggered split‐DNAzyme reassembly and dual‐color fluorescence. It also achieves mRNA‐selective knockdown through DNAzyme‐based gene regulation, serving as a versatile tool for splicing

Cover Pricing and the Overreach of ‘Object’ Liability under Article 101 TFEU

open access: yesWorld Competition, 2015
This article uses the example of cover pricing to show a possible overreach of liability under Article 101 TFEU, in relation to arrangements deemed to have the ‘object’ of restricting competition. Cover pricing is where a bidder seeks a non-winning bid from a competitor so that he can participate in a tender process without securing the contract.

Debt Management: Some Reflections Based on Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes
A good liability management strategy is one that helps minimize the cost of borrowing over the medium and long term. The objective is not to save the last basis point in each transaction, but rather to bring down the overall borrowing cost.

Cellular Identity Crisis: RD3 Loss Fuels Plasticity and Immune Silence in Progressive Neuroblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers discovered that therapy‐induced loss of RD3 protein in neuroblastoma triggers a dangerous shift: cancer cells become more stem‐like, invasive, and resistant to treatment while evading immune detection. RD3 loss suppresses antigen presentation and boosts immune checkpoints, creating an immune‐silent environment.

A Metal‐Free Carbon Monoxide Prodrug Suppresses Metastasis of Pancreatic and Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A metal‐free carbon monoxide (CO) prodrug, CO‐116, delivers controlled systemic CO without inhalation. CO suppresses the HRG1–heme axis, reducing intracellular heme availability. Attenuation of this pathway inhibits metastatic progression in pancreatic and triple‐negative breast cancer models.
