A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.

Very high energy gamma ray astronomy and non pulsating low mass x-ray binaries [PDF]
This thesis is concerned with non pulsating Low Mass X-Ray Binaries as Very High Energy γ-ray sources, in particular Scorpius X-1; the brightest of these objects in X-rays, and the most likely to be detectable at energies above 250 GeV.

Effect of Optical Illumination on Bubble Nanodomains
Stable surface‐confined nanoscale bubble domains are created and manipulated in PMN‐PT single crystals. Under above‐bandgap illumination, these bubble nanodomains remain unchanged. However, upon illumination cessation, they rapidly expand to switch the entire crystal surface, due to the accumulation of a large reservoir of electrons at the crystal ...

A Study of Babylonian Goal-Year Planetary Astronomy [PDF]
Throughout the Late Babylonian Period, Mesopotamian astronomers made nightly observations of the planets, Moon and stars. Based on these observations, they developed several different techniques for predicting future astronomical events.
