Researchers investigated whether the use of oral or transdermal hormone replacement therapy was a risk factor for stroke. Data were taken from the General Practice Research Database, a computerised database of anonymised longitudinal medical records collected prospectively in primary care. A cohort of women was identified, aged 50-79 years with records

Abstract Using center manifold theory, we derive a necessary and sufficient condition characterizing the exponential observers for Lyapunov stable nonlinear systems. We also show that the standard definition of exponential observers can be weakened for neutrally stable nonlinear systems.

H-infinity set-membership observer design for discrete-time LPV systems
International Journal of Control, 2018This paper presents a new set-membership observer design method for discrete-time linear parameter varying systems. The real process is assumed to be perturbed by unknown but bounded disturbances.

We present the observable-by-design principle. We believe that the new generation of services, products, and environment management systems should be designed to adapt to changes. Therefore, they should be designed to be observable, and their design should proactively and reactively adapt to the changes observed both internally and externally.

Observer Design of Bilinear Systems
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1983In this paper, recent results on the observer design of bilinear control systems (BLS) are first reviewed. Different design procedures are examined with respect to their associated observer error behavior. A new class of BLS observers which can be designed via pole-assignment algorithms is then presented.
