Inter-observer and intra-observer variation in bone histomorphometry

Calcified Tissue International, 1986
Inter-observer variation has been examined for a number of histomorphometric indices in 20 normal human iliac crest biopsies. Quantitation was performed using an eye-piece graticule and eye-piece micrometer. The same sections were examined by two observers and the methodology was identical. Intra-observer variation was also assessed.

Observer variation in the detection of osteopenia

Skeletal Radiology, 1986
In order to determine observer variation in the detection of osteopenia, 15 pairs of lateral chest radiographs obtained within two weeks of each other were reviewed separately by two radiologists and one orthopedist on three separate occasions. Intra- and interobserver variations were calculated for each individual film and film pairs using Kappa ...

Observer Variation in Bronchographic Diagnosis

The British Journal of Radiology, 1958
Observer variation* in the interpretation of chest radiographs has been estimated by a number of workers (Birkelo, Chamberlain, Phelps, Schools, Zacks and Yerushalmy, 1947; Cochrane and Garland, 1952; Fletcher and Oldham, 1949; Garland, 1949; Springett, 1956; Stradling and Johnston, 1953; Yerushalmy, Harkness, Cope and Kennedy, 1950; Yerushalmy ...

Observer Variation in Abdominal CT

Investigative Radiology, 1984
Observer performance in radiologic interpretation has traditionally been based upon Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. A statistical method that evaluates the reproducibility or consistency of radiologic interpretation is presented. Since this method is not based upon pathologic verification, it cannot be used to assess accuracy of ...

Observer variation in skeletal radiology

Skeletal Radiology, 1983
The factors that affect observer variation in bone radiology are analysed from data in the literature and on the basis of studies carried out at McMaster University on the hands and sacroiliac joints. A plea is made for presenting results in terms of Kappa statistics so that agreement due purely to chance is eliminated.
