Laser Resurfacing: Observations and Variations
International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology, 2000Laser resurfacing has become increasingly popular among cosmetic surgeons and the public during the last decade. Numerous brands and types of lasers are available. Countless choices of postsurgical wound care methods and mechanisms are available. New technology and variable practice patterns have resulted in less standardized care.

Observations of Irradiance Variations
Space Science Reviews, 2000Since November 1978 a complete set of total solar irradiance (TSI) measurements from space is available, yielding a time series of 21 years. From measurements made by different space radiometers (HF on NIMBUS-7, ACRIM I on SMM, ACRIM II on UARS and VIRGO on SOHO) a composite record of TSI can be compiled.

Observations of regional strain variations
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1972An array of six strainmeters was used to determine a least-squares regional strain field in southern Nevada. The deformation occurs in several distinct episodes over the 8-month interval analyzed. In each episode the directions of principal axes remain NW and NE, and the deformation is almost entirely pure shear. The end of each episode is marked by an

Comments on the observability of coronal variations
Solar Physics, 1988The observable variability of spectral lines in the soft X-ray and XUV region is discussed. Rapid variability of coronal emission, both in flaring and non-flaring structures, has been reported and is particularly prominent when high spatial resolution is available.

Observer variation in the detection of osteopenia
Skeletal Radiology, 1986In order to determine observer variation in the detection of osteopenia, 15 pairs of lateral chest radiographs obtained within two weeks of each other were reviewed separately by two radiologists and one orthopedist on three separate occasions. Intra- and interobserver variations were calculated for each individual film and film pairs using Kappa ...

Observer variation and reproducibility of endoscopic ultrasonography
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, 1995To investigate interobserver variation and reproducibility of endosonographic findings, both experienced and inexperienced endosonographers evaluated depth of tumor invasion (T stage) and presence of lymph node metastasis (N stage) in 50 patients with nonobstructing esophageal carcinoma.

Observer variation in measured ST-segment elevation
Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1999ST-segment elevation is used to make early decisions about using thrombolytic therapy in patients with suspected myocardial infarction. This study was performed to assess interobserver and intraobserver variation in subjects' measurements of ST-segment elevation in isolated ECG complexes. We performed a masked, paired-sample experiment.

Modelling solar irradiance variations: Comparison with observations, including line-ratio variations
Space Science Reviews, 2000Solar irradiance variations show a strong temporal and spectral dependence. The progression of the Sun through its activity cycle as well as solar rotation are mirrored in the irradiance variations. The spectral dependence is such that the variations are several magnitudes larger in the EUV than in the visible or infrared.

Observed phenotypic variation in a Paleozoic bryozoan
Paleobiology, 1995Documentation of morphologic variation within and among fossil species (and larger clades) provides fundamental data needed for studies of evolution, paleoecology, and the systematic foundation required for most fields of paleobiology. In paleontological (and, frequently, biological) studies, morphologic variation is used as a general proxy for genetic
