Developing Autonomous Observing Systems for Micronutrient Trace Metals
Trace metal micronutrients are integral to the functioning of marine ecosystems and the export of particulate carbon to the deep ocean. Although much progress has been made in mapping the distributions of metal micronutrients throughout the ocean over ...

Accelerating assimilation development for new observing systems using EFSO [PDF]
To successfully assimilate data from a new observing system, it is necessary to develop appropriate data selection strategies, assimilating only the generally useful data. This development work is usually done by trial and error using observing system

Towards the integration of animal-borne instruments into global ocean observing systems. [PDF]
Marine animals are increasingly instrumented with environmental sensors that provide large volumes of oceanographic data. Here, we conduct an innovative and comprehensive global analysis to determine the potential contribution of animal‐borne instruments

Deep Learning-Based Unmanned Surveillance Systems for Observing Water Levels
Traditional surveillance systems for observing water levels are often complex, costly, and time-consuming. In this paper, we developed a low-cost unmanned surveillance system consisting of remote measuring stations and a monitoring center.

The Observability in Unobservable Systems
In this paper, we introduce the concept of observability of targeted state variables for systems that may not be fully observable. For their estimation, we introduce and exemplify a deep filter, which is a neural network specifically designed for the estimation of targeted state variables without computing the trajectory of the entire system.
