Distinct Microbiota and Functional Pathway Profiles Define Success and Failure in Regenerative Endodontic Treatment

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 59, Issue 10, Page 2223-2237, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To characterize the intracanal microbiota and identify key microbial taxa and functional pathways associated with regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) outcomes. Methodology In this observational cohort study, 196 samples were collected at five time points from external tooth surfaces (T1, T4) and root canals (T2, T3, T5).

Primary molar pulpectomy using two different obturation techniques: A clinical study

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2018
Context: A major goal in pediatric dentistry is preservation of the integrity of primary teeth and their supporting tissues until physiological process of exfoliation takes place. Pulpectomy serves such a purpose using various materials and techniques to

Endodontic and Surgical Management of External Cervical Root Resorption: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This study describes the treatment of tooth #9 exhibiting external cervical root resorption (ECR) and apical root resorption. A therapeutic approach—including root canal therapy with MTA apexification, surgical debridement of resorptive tissue at the ECR site, and sealing of the defect—was necessary to eliminate the infection.

Internal Root Resorption in a Previously Endodontically Treated Maxillary Molar: Nonsurgical Retreatment With Cold Ceramic

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Internal root resorption in a previously endodontically treated maxillary molar is an exceptionally rare finding. This case demonstrates that CBCT is essential for accurate lesion characterization, and obturation with Cold Ceramic yielded a favorable short‐term radiographic stabilization at 15‐month follow‐up in the nonsurgical retreatment of ...

Dentinal Crack Formation and Quality of Obturation Using Two Single File Systems and Two Obturation Techniques: A micro-CT Study.

open access: yesErbil Dental Journal
Background and objectives: Root canal preparation following obturation with rotary instruments and different obturation techniques may lead to formation of microcracks in the root canal wall, void and gaps between the canal wall and obturation material.

Analysis of the Internal Anatomy of Distal Root Canals of Mandibular Molars: A Micro‐Computed Tomography Study

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, Volume 55, Issue 5, Page 712-720, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Detailed knowledge of the internal anatomy of the root canal system and its variations is essential for selecting appropriate endodontic treatment protocols. Micro‐computed tomography (micro‐CT) allows for nondestructive, high‐resolution three‐dimensional (3D) analysis of extracted teeth, enabling precise evaluation of root canal morphology ...

Factors Associated With Endodontic Flare‐Ups: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 59, Issue 9, Page 1778-1791, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Endodontic flare‐ups, characterized by severe postoperative pain and/or swelling requiring unscheduled intervention, remain a clinically significant concern in root canal therapy. Identifying the factors associated with flare‐ups is important for anticipating and managing patient outcomes.
