Olfactory Bulb Volume and Function Recovery in Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study investigated perioperative changes in olfactory bulb volume (OBV) in patients with eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis using high‐resolution 3T MRI. Postoperative increases in OBV were associated with improvements in olfactory identification, suggesting a potential link between olfactory bulb structural plasticity and functional recovery ...

Male Mating Behaviour Is Shaped by Previous Experience of Both Conspecific and Heterospecific Females in the Seed Bug Lygaeus simulans

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
We investigate the effect of previous mating opportunities with con‐ and heterospecifics on the subsequent mating decisions of male Lygaeus simulans seed bugs. We found that males were less likely to copulate with both con‐ and heterospecific females if they had previously encountered a heterospecific female, and more likely to copulate with ...

Can the Cognitive Function Index identify cognitive impairment in Latin America?

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S3, December 2025.

Exploring the bottlenecks of low nitrogen efficiency among yield zones in a commercial row crop farm using a nitrogen budget approach

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 117, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
Abstract Nitrogen (N) fertilizers have played a critical role in increasing crop yields, yet only about 48% of applied N is recovered by crops, with the remainder lost through leaching, volatilization, denitrification, immobilization, or runoff, posing environmental and agronomic concerns.

Diets of Three Sympatric Grebe Species in Lake Titicaca Indicate Possible Dietary Niche Partitioning

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Lake Titicaca is home to three grebe species whose diets have not been thoroughly studied. In this natural history note, we provide the first description of the diets of these species and how they overlap and differentiate. ABSTRACT Dietary niche partitioning is a fundamental process in community ecology, of interest to both conservationists and ...
