Structurally‐Controlled Permeability Evolution and Mineralization in Geothermal Caprocks: The Fenice Capanne Mining District (Southern Tuscany, Italy)

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The Neogene mineralized region of the Colline Metallifere in southern Tuscany (Italy) provides a natural laboratory to investigate feedback between fluid–rock interaction, structurally controlled fluid flow, and hydrothermal ore mineralization.

Mid‐infrared spectroscopy applied to a multi‐level cave system (Montmaurin, SW France): An innovative method for assessing sediment provenance

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 73, Issue 5, Page 1722-1749, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Deciphering sediment provenance is essential to understand depositional patterns and dynamics. This question is particularly important in archaeological contexts to constrain the sedimentological history of unearthed material—an information critically needed, for example, to estimate the age of the deposits—or to apprehend sediment movement ...

First Assessment of Genetic Diversity, Phylogeographic Relationships, and Population Structure of the Brown Seaweed Ericaria amentacea From Italian Coasts Using Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit I (COI) Gene

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
First assessment of genetic diversity, phylogeographic relationships, and population structure of the brown seaweed Ericaria amentacea from Italian. ABSTRACT Ericaria amentacea is an endemic key seaweed species in the coastal ecosystem of the Mediterranean basin. Given its ecological role and sensitivity to environmental conditions decline, it has been

Combining the Underwater Vision Profiler 6 with sediment traps to measure in situ velocity of marine particles

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 24, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Particles sinking from the surface to the deep ocean play a key role in the biological carbon pump, whose efficiency depends partly on sinking velocities. Over the last decade, in situ imaging has enabled critical advances in our understanding of particle dynamics in the ocean.

Jules Ronjat : Occitan Syntax and Occitan Language

open access: yes, 2016

On the origins of French and Occitan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The status of the language found in the Clermont-Ferrand manuscript of the Passion and St Leger is unclear. Should it be regarded as French, or French with an admixture of Occitanisms, or something else? A concordance of the early mostly short texts shows that they share a range of common forms, across all three Gallo-Romance languages.

Divergent Heat Assessments Across Thermal Stress and Sensation Metrics

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract A large and growing body of literature has indicated potential inconsistencies in heat assessments due to the use of different heat stress indices (HSI). This divergence hinders the emergence of scientific consensus and impairs the development of public policy on a range of topics, including climate change impacts, public health guidance, and ...

Long‐Term Deformation in the Alpine‐Provence Foreland Constrained by In Situ Calcite U‐Pb Dating

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The evolution of the Alpine‐Provence foreland is characterized by multiple deformation phases since the Mesozoic, representing successive compressional and extensional episodes. The precise timing and spatial evolution of these deformation phases remain poorly constrained due to the lack of absolute geochronological data. Here, we present U–Pb

The impact of English on local languages: The case of Catalan universities

open access: yesWorld Englishes, Volume 45, Issue 2, Page 309-322, June 2026.
Abstract This article deals with the somehow complex equilibrium of languages used in Catalonia, with a particular analysis of the role of English vis‐a‐vis the national language (Spanish) and the regional official language (Catalan). A discussion of the supremacy of standard languages over local ones in modern history, followed by an account of the ...
