Two-body wear and surface hardness of occlusal splint materials

open access: yesDental Materials Journal, 2022
The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the wear and surface hardness of nine materials for conventional manufacturing, subtractive milling, and 3D printing of occlusal splints, as well as to evaluate the differences in wear and surface hardness between rigid and flexible 3D-printed occlusal splint materials.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Postural defects and speech disorders

open access: yesPediatria i Medycyna Rodzinna, 2017
The human body is a structure in which each part is closely related to the other. This chain of interdependence should contribute to a holistic view of a human being and a perception of a disease as a potential consequence of other body dysfunctions ...

IV Thrombolysis Facilitates Interventional Reperfusion in Non‐Cardioembolic but Not Cardioembolic Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before thrombectomy for ischemic stroke may alter clot structure and procedural performance. We investigated how IVT relates to thrombectomy metrics across stroke etiologies. Methods We performed a time‐to‐event analysis of consecutive patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (acLVO ...

A Lightweight Method for Detecting Dynamic Target Occlusions by the Robot Body

open access: yes, 2023
Robot vision is greatly affected by occlusions, which poses challenges to autonomous systems. The robot itself may hide targets of interest from the camera, while it moves within the field of view, leading to failures in task execution. For example, if a target of interest is partially occluded by the robot, detecting and grasping it correctly, becomes

Acute Kidney Injury After Mechanical Thrombectomy for Stroke in Patients With Pre‐Existing Renal Impairment

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common but often underrecognized complication in ischemic stroke patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy, particularly among those with pre‐existing renal impairment. This study evaluated the incidence, risk factors, and clinical impact of AKI in this high‐risk population.

Ventilation Increases with Lower Extremity Venous Occlusion in Young Adults

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Venous distention via infsystolic occlusion of the lower limbs may augment ventilation via stimulation of group III/IV afferent neurons. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the ventilatory response to graded lower extremity ...

Influenza Vaccination Responses in Disabled Stroke Patients: A Single‐Center Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to investigate the immunological response to influenza vaccination, the incidence and severity of influenza infection, and the side effects of the vaccination in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods This prospective observational study was conducted between 2023 and 2024 at Ramathibodi Hospital.

Blood RNA Biomarker Signatures for Early Diagnosis and Prognosis in Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Stroke: The IBIS‐CT1 Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the expression of nine blood RNA biomarkers in a clinical trial based on genes previously identified in an experimental monkey model of stroke for diagnosis feasibility and prognostication. Methods IBIS‐CT1 was a prospective longitudinal study enrolling patients with ischemic stroke (IS) or intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH ...
