Fractal Characteristics of Pore Structure in Lacustrine Shale Oil Reservoirs and Controlling Factors of Oil Occurrence State: A Case Study of Da’anzhai Member, Sichuan Basin

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The Jurassic lacustrine oil shale in southwest China has become a primary production layer due to its high yield and substantial reserves. However, influenced by the lacustrine environment, the vertical profile of the lacustrine shale reservoir shows ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Pore-Scale Characterization of Remaining Oil Evolution During Waterflooding in Offshore Sandstone Reservoirs Using Micro-CT and U-Net Semantic Segmentation

open access: yesEnergies
After offshore sandstone reservoirs enter the high-water-cut development stage, remaining oil gradually changes from a continuously movable state to a dispersed, isolated, and locally trapped state.

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Automatic Process Mineralogy Based on Gold Ore Core

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
This is an article in the field of process mineralogy. A quartz vein type gold deposit in Shandong has a gold grade of 2.51 g/t. In order to further develop the deposit and study the beneficiation process, the process mineralogy of the mineral was ...

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Quantitative Assessment of Free and Adsorbed Shale Oil in Kerogen Pores Using Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiment Characterization

open access: yesEnergies
Understanding the microscopic occurrence states of shale oil—particularly the distribution between adsorbed and free phases—is essential for optimizing the development of unconventional reservoirs. In this study, we propose an integrated methodology that

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...
