Recursive quadratic programming for constrained nonlinear optimization of session throughput in multiple‐flow network topologies

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 2, Issue 6, June 2020., 2020
In this article, we consider the utility resource allocation with the goal of maximizing the throughput and achieving fairness among the multiple competing sessions in the network. Specifically, we propose and formulate a single‐objective nonlinearly constrained programming problem with delay and capacity constraints.

Reduction of multiple access interference in OCDMA systems using a semiconductor based TPA device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The authors present a simulation model and results for a four user OCDMA system operating at an overall data rate of 4 Gb/s (4 x 1 Gb/s). The work presents the novel use of a nonlinear detector based on TPA for simultaneous thresholding and detection in ...

A 16-channel reconfigurable OCDMA/DWDM system using continuous phase-shift SSFBGs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We demonstrate a reconfigurable 16-channel optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA)/dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system (4 OCDMA times 4 DWDM times 625 Mb/s) based on novel 31-chip, 40 Gchip/s quaternary phase coding gratings ...

Reduction of interchannel interference noise in a two-channel grating-based OCDMA system using a nonlinear optical loop mirror [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We show that a nonlinear optical switch can be used to suppress the interchannel noise generated under multiuser operation within a coherent, direct-sequence optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) system.

Feasibility study of SOA-based noise suppression for spectral amplitude coded OCDMA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We investigate the benefits of employing a saturated SOA to reduce optical noise in an incoherent light OCDMA system. In the context of spectrum-slicing, SOA-based noise suppression has shown significant potential for enhancing the signal quality of ...

A New Prime Code for Synchronous Optical Code Division Multiple‐Access Networks

open access: yesJournal of Computer Networks and Communications, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
A new spreading code based on a prime code for synchronous optical code‐division multiple‐access networks that can be used in monitoring applications has been proposed. The new code is referred to as “extended grouped new modified prime code.” This new code has the ability to support more terminal devices than other prime codes. In addition, it patches

Investigation of 2D-WH/TS OCDMA Code Stability in Systems with SOA-Based Device

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper investigates for the first time how the implementation of semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA)-based devices in photonic networks can negatively impact the integrity of two-dimensional wavelength-hopping time-spreading (2D-WH/TS) optical code-
