The Chikyu and Ocean Drilling Science [PDF]
The construction of a Deep Sea Drilling Vessel, the Chikyu began in April 2001 and was completed in the summer of 2005 [Taira, 2005]. The Chkyu is a 210 meter-long vessel, with a gross tonnage of 57,087 tons, and a drilling derrick standing 121 m above sea level.

A novel metadata schema is introduced to address the sparsity of microstructure‐sensitive mechanical data. The design follows the material modeling workflow, as each run results in the definition of unique data objects. The schema includes categorical elements to ensure findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR). This approach

Mapping Ocean Wealth: Livelihoods, Economies and Integrated Ocean-Use Planning [PDF]
The Conservancy's goal is to calculate and describe—in quantitative and spatial terms—all that the ocean does for us today, so we can make smart investments and decisions affecting what the ocean can do for us tomorrow.

Hiatus heat in the Indian Ocean [PDF]
Global surface warming has slowed since the start of the twenty-first century, while Pacific heat uptake was enhanced. Analyses of ocean heat content suggest that the warm water was transferred to the Indian Ocean, through the Indonesian straits.

The fabrication and post‐treatment via solvent annealing of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate‐based electrodes using spray deposition in a roll‐to‐roll setup are presented. The decrease in sheet resistance and its correlation with nanostructure and molecular structure in the electrodes as a function of the processing parameters is ...
