IMPMCT: a dataset of Integrated Multi-source Polar Mesoscale Cyclone Tracks in the Nordic Seas [PDF]

open access: yesEarth System Science Data
Polar Mesoscale Cyclones (PMCs), particularly their intense subset known as Polar Lows (PLs), characterized by short lifespans of 3–36 h and horizontal scales below 1000 km, pose significant hazards to polar maritime activities due to extreme winds ...

From Blue Economy to Blue Marketing: Linking Consumer Engagement and Corporate Strategy for Ocean Sustainability—Theoretical Foundations and Propositions

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Blue economy advocates the sustainable use of marine resources while fostering economic growth and environmental preservation. Yet many business sectors still pursue extractive practices that undermine marine ecosystems and disregard consumers' sensitivity.

A Land-Corrected ASCAT Coastal Wind Product

open access: yesRemote Sensing
A new ASCAT coastal wind product based on a 12.5 km grid size is presented. The new product contains winds up to the coast line and is identical to the current operational coastal product over the open ocean.

Idealized Simulations of the Inner Core Boundary Layer Structure in a Landfalling Tropical Cyclone. Part I: Kinematic Structure

open access: yesTropical Cyclone Research and Review, 2019
The effects of coastal topography and coastal location in the distribution of boundary layer winds in the inner core of mature tropical cyclones are examined using a high-resolution multi-level model.

Dynamic geo‐hydrogeological monitoring‐driven situational awareness for real‐time floor water inrush risk prediction in deep mining

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The fused data extracted from the distributed monitoring system as the data basis, combined with dynamic geological data, are imported into a deep learning model. As the geological conditions of mining and excavation change, the risk of water inrush at the working face is retrieved in real time.
