Tectono-magmatic evolution of the Philippine Sea Plate: A review

open access: yesGeosystems and Geoenvironment, 2022
The West Pacific Margin incorporates 75% of global marginal basins/back-arc basins. These basins and their adjacent trenches and island arcs constitute a huge trench-arc-basin system created by the interactions among three tectonic plates (the Pacific ...

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

Separation of Gagua Rise from Great Benham Rise in the West Philippine Basin during the Middle Eocene

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The West Philippine Basin (WPB) has started opening at ~ 58 Ma and ceased spreading at ~ 33 Ma, developing a fast spreading (~ 44 mm/yr half-spreading rate) magmatic episode between 58 and 41 Ma and the second amagmatic episode between 41 and 33 Ma.

Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

Global rate and distribution of H2 gas produced by serpentinization within oceanic lithosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2016
It has recently been estimated that serpentinization within continental lithosphere produces H2 at rates comparable to oceanic lithosphere (both are ~1011 mol H2/yr).

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

Melt-poor spreading in the Shikoku back-arc basin: geophysical investigation of the initial spreading stage

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science
Back-arc basins play a crucial role in the formation of oceanic crust, similar to mid-ocean ridges. While magmatic and tectonic processes in the mature spreading stage resemble those in mid-ocean ridges, the initiation and cessation of back-arc spreading

Phase‐Pure and Size‐Tunable Tin Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A trioctylphosphine oxide modulated protocol allows for the synthesis and study of the optical properties of a broad library of tin halide perovskite quantum dots across multiple A‐ and X‐site compositions with precise size tuning while eliminating unwanted 2D phases.

A Global Data Set of Present‐Day Oceanic Crustal Age and Seafloor Spreading Parameters

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2020
We present an updated oceanic crustal age grid and a set of complementary grids including spreading rate, asymmetry, direction, and obliquity. Our data set is based on a selected set of magnetic anomaly identifications and the plate tectonic model of ...
