An Automatically Initialized Level Set Method for Ochotona Curzoniae Image Segmentation
Abstract In order to effectively solve this problem that that the traditional level set method needs to mark the initial contour manually, a novel method that automatic initialization by utilizing deep learning is proposed in this paper.

Agromyces badenianii sp. nov., isolated from plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae)
Two aerobic, Gram-stain-positive, catalase-positive, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterial strains, designated MF30-AT and MF845, were isolated from the intestinal contents of plateau pika collected from the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. Optimal growth of these two strains was observed under aerobic conditions at pH 7.0 and 28 °C. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of

Enzymatic Kinetic Properties of the Lactate Dehydrogenase Isoenzyme C₄ of the Plateau Pika (Ochotona curzoniae). [PDF]
Testis-specific lactate dehydrogenase (LDH-C4) is one of the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) isozymes that catalyze the terminal reaction of pyruvate to lactate in the glycolytic pathway. LDH-C4 in mammals was previously thought to be expressed only in spermatozoa and testis and not in other tissues.

Architecture Characteristics of Burrow System of Plateau Pika, Ochotona curzoniae
Burrows serve many functions for animals by providing a place for rearing young, sleeping, hibernation, food storage, protection from predators and extreme environment, and the function of burrows varies with the degree of burrow complexity. We studied the burrow architecture (length, internal dimensions, fractal dimension of tunnel systems, number of ...

Decades of Enclosure Protection Exert Composite Effects on Grassland Grasshopper Communities
Decades of enclosure protection have altered grasshopper community structure, with species‐specific effects on population dynamics. For the low‐mobility grasshopper Chorthippus fallax, abundance did not differ strongly between exclosure‐protected and overgrazed areas, but its egg development duration was longer in exclosures. The two C.

Actinomyces gaoshouyii sp. nov., isolated from plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae)
Two strains (pika_113T and pika_114) of a previously undescribed Actinomyces-like bacterium were recovered from the intestinal contents of plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) on the Tibet-Qinghai Plateau, China. Results from biochemical characterization indicated that the two strains were phenotypically homogeneous and distinct from other previously ...

Our study is the first to explore how macropod gut flora vary across levels of urbanisation, exploring the faecal microbiomes of the red‐bellied pademelon (Thylogale billardierii) and the red‐necked wallaby (Notamacropus rufogriseus rufogriseus). There is some evidence of urbanisation's impacts on the macropod microbiome, although there appear to be ...

A Genomic Catalog of Migratory Microbiomes from Wild Birds across China's Habitats
ABSTRACT Migratory birds play an important role in the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR); however, gaps in surveillance data from vital regions along migratory flyways across China limit the detection of emergent threats. Here, we assembled 340 metagenomes from 52 bird species covering 11 provincial administrative districts in China, presenting ...
