Orbital and Electrical Dual Function of Polymer Intercalant for Promoting NH4+ Storage in Vanadium Oxide Anode

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
The impact of polyaniline insertion on the atomic orbitals and electronic structure of vanadium oxide anode is systematically investigated for the first time. The electrode exhibits an outstanding capacity and unprecedent long‐term cycling life, owing to the electron transition to the V 3dxy state and the enhanced diffusion kinetics.

A Decoupled Cycling Architecture of Asymmetric Zinc‐Air Battery Unlocks Stable Catalyst Strategy and pH‐Dynamic Influence

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A decoupled cycling architecture along with cost‐effective membrane and efficient catalyst is developed for asymmetric zinc‐air battery. The decoupled design ensures stable operation of catalyst and the pH‐dynamic influence on battery performance is explored, which provides paths for efficient utilization of pH‐decoupling electrolytes.

Effects of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) on survival and edibility of loaches in the World Heritage Honghe Hani Rice Terraces, China

open access: yesAquaculture Environment Interactions, 2019
A new rice-loach co-culture system was introduced into the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces (HHRT), China, to promote sustainable development of this World Heritage region. However, little is known about the survival of loaches in this area and whether they are

Redox‐Mediated Aluminum–Air Fuel Cells With Suppressed Hydrogen Evolution for Durable Power Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The redox‐mediated aluminum–air fuel cell (RM‐AAFC) integrates a soluble redox mediator, 7,8‐dihydroxy‐2‐phenazine sulfonic acid (DHPS), to facilitate the oxidation of aluminum and inhibit hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) through competitive reactions between DHPS reduction and HER on the Al surface.

Complex Iridium Oxides Converge In Structure And Reactivity During Acidic Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ir‐based double perovskites restructure during acidic oxygen evolution electrocatalysis through dissolution of non‐Ir cations and convergence toward IrOx active‐site motifs with similar structure and intrinsic activity across compositions. The identity of the dissolving cations controls dissolution and surface reconstruction kinetics, clarifying how ...

Structure and function of the light-protective orange carotenoid protein families

open access: yesCurrent Research in Structural Biology
Orange carotenoid proteins (OCPs) are unique photoreceptors that are critical for cyanobacterial photoprotection. Upon exposure to blue-green light, OCPs are activated from a stable orange form, OCPO, to an active red form, OCPR, which binds to ...
