Monolayer Properties of Mixtures of Poly(octadecyl methacrylate) and Poly(butyl methacrylate) and Their Corresponding Copolymers [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1978
Abstract The monolayer properties of mixtures of poly(octadecyl methacrylate) and poly(butyl methacrylate) have been compared with those of their corresponding copolymers of octadecyl methacrylate and butyl methacrylate, using the measurements of their surface pressure-area isotherms at the air/water interface at 20 °C.

Molecular weight–viscosity relationship of gamma-irradiated octadecyl vinyl ether and octadecyl methacrylate

Journal of Polymer Science, 1958
AbstractOctadecyl vinyl ether and octadecyl methacrylate monomer were polymerized by means of gamma radiation from a cobalt‐60 source. The weight‐average molecular weight and the intrinsic viscosity of the resulting polymers were determined. The constants K′ and a were 0.25 × 10−4 and 0.75, respectively, for poly(octadecyl methacrlylate) and 22.4 × 10 ...

Polymeric pseudo-liquid membranes from poly(octadecyl methacrylate)

Journal of Membrane Science, 2013
Abstract The novel liquid membrane system, which is named polymeric pseudo-liquid membrane, was constructed from poly(octadecyl methacrylate) (PC18MA), which showed a rubbery state under operating conditions, as a membrane matrix, and dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) for the transport of KCl or O -allyl- N -(9-anthracenylmethyl)cinchonidinium bromide ...

Rapid photopolymerization of octadecyl methacrylate in the solid state

New Journal of Chemistry, 2013
Mobility restrictions in solid-state photopolymerization give extremely poor polymerization kinetics. However, photopolymerization of octadecyl methacrylate in the solid state exhibits unique polymerization kinetics and molecular weight distributions.
