New compact particle acceleration structures, including but not limited to plasma, THz and direct laser driven accelerators, have in common that they cover a wide energy range of potential final energies and often show a large energy spread. Moreover, they may initially have a rather large emittance.

Octave assignment system for electronic musical instrument
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1980An electronic organ uses several top octave synthesizer circuits for producing the various tones used in the organ. Each of the top octave synthesizers is capable of producing any tone which can be produced by the organ. As a consequence, the outputs of each synthesizer are applied to a coupler circuit, which in turn is connected to an octave ...

The development of coherent Fourier transform two-dimensional electronic-vibrational (2D EV) spectroscopy with acousto-optic pulse-shaper-generated near-UV pump pulses and an octave-spanning broadband mid-IR probe pulse is detailed. A 2D EV spectrum of a silicon wafer demonstrates the full experimental capability of this experiment, and a 2D EV ...

The conventional cavity-reactance amplifier uses a single variable-reactance diode that couples several tuned circuits together. There are many modes of operation of this type of amplifier, each of which has been analyzed in detail.

Octave electronic tuning of a CW Gunn diode using a YIG sphere
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1969Octave electronic tuning of CW Gunn diodes using a YIG sphere has been achieved in the range 6 to 18 GHz. Output power exceeded 50 mW throughout the range 6.9 to 8.5 GHz for narrower-band operation.

We present an octave-spanning soliton microcomb at 15 GHz repetition rate with higher-order dispersive waves, those spectrum contains ∼8800 comb lines. The microcomb is generated in a single Si3N4microresonator by using pulse pumping.

An electronic musical instrument for reproducing chords or pure tones in a fixed interval scale, called Modified Eastern Music Tru-Scale Octave Transformation by the inventors, without overtone collision. The instrument includes a memory for storing and reproducing the 24 octave frequency interval system.

Electronic Low-Loss Phase Shifter With Near Octave Bandwidth
2000This paper describes design of the broadband electronic low-loss phase shifter. Proposed phase shifter is intended for use in microwave transmission line resonator [4]. Operating frequency is 1.75GHz with near octave bandwidth. Phase shifter is electronically tuned. It uses varactor diodes for phase shift adjustment.
