Recurrent cerebellar architecture solves the motor-error problem [PDF]
Current views of cerebellar function have been heavily influenced by the models of Marr and Albus, who suggested that the climbing fibre input to the cerebellum acts as a teaching signal for motor learning.

Mechanical model of extrinsic muscles of the eyeball
The mathematical modeling of the physiological behavior of extraocular muscles in ocular rotation, contributes to the learning of the oculomotor system and the development of technologies for the control of devices, through the precise prediction of the ...

Objective Impaired ability to induce stepping after incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI) can limit the efficacy of locomotor training, often leaving patients wheelchair‐bound. The cuneiform nucleus (CNF), a key mesencephalic locomotor control center, modulates the activity of spinal locomotor centers via the reticulospinal tract.

Selectivity in regeneration of the oculomotor nerve in the cichlid fish, Astronotus ocellatus [PDF]
It has long been considered a general rule for nerve regeneration that the reinnervation of skeletal muscle is nonselective. Regenerating nerve fibers are supposed to reconnect with one skeletal muscle as readily as another according to studies covering ...

A Cholinergic Synaptically Triggered Event Participates in the Generation of Persistent Activity Necessary for Eye Fixation [PDF]
An exciting topic regarding integrative properties of the nervous system is how transient motor commands or brief sensory stimuli are able to evoke persistent neuronal changes, mainly as a sustained, tonic action potential firing.

Hominoid‐specific calretinin‐immunopositivity of the optic radiation (geniculocalcarine tract)
Calretinin‐immunostained coronal section through the primary (V1) and extrastriate (ExSt) cortex of the lar gibbon. Note that the optic radiation (OR) is strongly calretinin‐immunoreactive. This calretinin‐immunopositivity of the OR distinguishes the Hominoidea from other primates in terms of the neurochemistry of the OR.
