Intersexual differences in the mudballs of Uca annulipes (Decapoda: Ocypodidae) [PDF]
This study investigated the features of mudballs produced by male and female Uca annulipes. Both sexes formed mudballs from mud excavated from within the burrow during the final hour of the low tide period. Males placed the centre of the mudball aggregation and the furthest mudball significantly further from the burrow than females.

Population Dynamics of the Fiddler Crab Tubuca rhizophorae (Tweedie, 1950) in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. [PDF]
This study uses monthly field surveys and length‐frequency analysis to examine the population dynamics of the fiddler crab Tubuca rhizophorae in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Key parameters, including growth rate, mortality, and exploitation rate, were estimated, revealing that the species experiences rapid growth but is subject to significant fishing ...

Intraspecific Sensory Diversity and the Decapod Claw: Patterns of Sensillation Are Heterochelic and Sexually Dimorphic In Pagurus bernhardus. [PDF]
Information detection is crucial for biological life, yet many aspects of sensory diversity remain underexplored. Using Pagurus bernhardus hermit crabs, we examined intraspecific sensory diversity in chelar morphology. Examinations of scanning electron micrographs of chelar moults by geometric morphometric analyses and linear mixed modelling revealed ...

Molecular barcoding of the Persian Gulf mangrove associated brachyuran crabs [PDF]
Brachyuran crabs constitute the dominant fauna in intertidal and supratidal coasts of mangrove forests. We sampled the most commonly occurring crab species from the biodiversity rich Persian Gulf mangrove forest.

New record of Dotilla intermedia (Brachyura: Ocypodidae) from Thailand [PDF]
The identity of a dotillid intertidal crab from exposed sandy beaches within the Laem Son National Park along the Andaman Coast in Thailand was investigated. The species was identified as Dotilla intermedia De Man, 1888, which represents the first record of this species from Thailand.

A New Varunid Subfamily (Decapoda, Brachyura, Grapsoidea, Varunidae) for Crabs From European and West African Waters, With the Description of Two New Genera and Two New Species. [PDF]
Morphological and DNA sequencing studies of Varunidae specimens, previously considered to belong to the genus Asthenognathus, from eastern Atlantic waters have allowed the description of two new genera and two new species. From a molecular point of view, it is shown that they belong to a new subfamily, distinct from Asthenognathinae and that there are ...

Comparison of the coexistence pattern of mangrove macrobenthos between natural and artificial reforestation. [PDF]
This study explored which method is more effective in restoring the biodiversity of mangrove macrobenthos in existing methods for abandoned pond‐to‐mangrove restoration including artificial and natural restorations. We found that similar species composition, lower biotic heterogeneity and species interaction among macrobenthos at artificial restoration
