Polioencephalomalacia in a White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus borealis) [PDF]
In an adult white-tailed deer affected by polioencephalomalacia the lesions were acute ischemic-type necrosis, malacia, and hemorrhage in the cerebral cortex, vestibular nuclei, caudal colliculi, oculomotor nuclei, geniculate nuclei, thalamus, and ventral portion of the cerebellar vermis.
