Molecular diagnostics in odontogenic tumors. [PDF]
Abstract Background Odontogenic tumors (OTs) are rare, with an estimated incidence rate of less than 0.5 cases per 100,000 per year. The causes of OTs remain unclear. Nonetheless, the majority of OTs seem to arise de novo, without an apparent causative factor.

Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor: evidence for a mixed odontogenic tumor [PDF]
Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) was classified by the World Health Organization as a mixed odontogenic tumor in 1992 and reclassified without a clear rationale as an epithelium-only tumor in 2005. The purpose of this study was to investigate if there was any evidence to suggest AOT might be a mixed odontogenic tumor.Immunohistochemical studies with

Clinical periodontal diagnosis
Abstract Periodontal diseases include pathological conditions elicited by the presence of bacterial biofilms leading to a host response. In the diagnostic process, clinical signs such as bleeding on probing, development of periodontal pockets and gingival recessions, furcation involvement and presence of radiographic bone loss should be assessed prior ...

Squamous Odontogenic Tumor [PDF]
A 24 year male presented with a radiolucent lesion associated with the right maxillary canine. Histologic examination of the biopsy material resulted in a diagnosis of squamous odontogenic tumor a rare, benign epithelial odontogenic neoplasm. The clinical, radiographic and morphologic features of the squamous odontogenic tumor are discussed.

Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor [PDF]
The keratocystic odontogenic tumor is a benign developmental tumor with many distinguishing clinical and histologic features. These characteristics are reviewed in the setting of a typical presentation. The newly acknowledged neoplastic potential and its implications for treatment strategies are also discussed.

ABSTRACT Background Particulate matter ⩽2.5 µm in diameter (PM2.5) and its role in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) pathogenesis have gained heightened attention. We previously demonstrated that PM2.5 exposure may bias the nasal mucosa in CRS toward a Type 2 inflammatory pathway.
