A Novel TR-STBC-OFDM Scheme for MIMO-OFDM
2006 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems, 2006This paper combines time-reversal space-time block coding (TR-STBC) which is for frequency-selective channel, with orthogonal frequency multiplexing (OFDM) to derive a new MIMO-OFDM system. Compared with the system which adopts STBC proposed by Alamouti, this one adopting TR-STBC exchanges the positions of OFDM modulator/demodulator and Space-time ...

In this chapter we introduced the basic OFDM principle: a data stream is split into Nc parallel lower rate data streams that are modulated on separate subcarriers. Practical implementations of OFDM systems use the IDFT operation for this modulation. Although this parallellization already reduces the impact of ISI, it can be completely removed by means ...

On the comparison between conventional ofdm and mse-ofdm systems
GLOBECOM '03. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37489), 2004A new multi-symbol encapsulated orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MSE-OFDM) system is proposed, in which one cyclic prefix (CP) is used for a frame of multiple OFDM symbols. A system level comparison between a conventional OFDM and the proposed MSE-OFDM system is presented in this study.

Comparison of Shannon Capacity between OFDM and DFT-S OFDM
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014DFT-S OFDM, short for DFT Spread OFDM, is employed in LTE uplink to reduce the Peak-To-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) introduced by multicarrier transmission. In this paper, we compare the maximum achievable data rate, i.e. the Shannon capacity, of DFT-S-OFDM and OFDM under Rayleigh and with clipping. Our results indicate that, in terms of Shannon Capcity,

The behavior of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals in bandpass nonlinearity is presented. In particular, in-band bit-error-rate (BER) degradation and induced adjacent channel interference, as a result of amplitude limiting or clipping, are analyzed.

Precoded OFDM for asynchronous uplink with transparency to OFDM receiver
2017 IEEE 28th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2017A novel waveform design approach is taken to develop a waveform based on precoding of data symbols, referred to as Precoded OFDM. The waveform is tailored for robustness against asynchronous transmission and a simple OFDM receiver to keep its intricacies hidden from the system.

A Postfix Synchronization Method for OFDM and MIMO-OFDM Systems
2008 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2008This paper proposes a synchronization method that uses as preamble two identical training parts (Chu sequences) followed by a flipped postfix (FlP) for OFDM and MIMO-OFDM systems. The proposed method provides symbol timing and carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimators.

Technology Independent Security Aware OFDM (SA-OFDM)
2019 IEEE 30th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2019Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is currently the most prominent modulation technique, mainly due to it’s spectral efficiency. To improve the security performance of OFDM based systems, multiple security approaches are proposed in literature, including physical-layer (PHY) approaches.

A Flexible OFDM-Like DFT-s-OFDM Reference Symbol
2020 10th Advanced Satellite Multimedia Systems Conference and the 16th Signal Processing for Space Communications Workshop (ASMS/SPSC), 2020With many high throughput satellites (HTS) in space, the satellite industry is now able to provide flexible services at costs that tend to become competitive. Satellite networks may ultimately play a significant role in the global telecommunication market.
