OFDR with double interrogation for dynamic quasi-distributed sensing

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
A method for phase sensitive quasi-distributed vibration and acoustical sensing is presented. The method is based on double optical frequency domain reflectometry interrogation of a sensing fiber with an array of discrete weak reflectors. Two replicas of the interrogation signal are launched into the sensing fiber.

Signal Processing in Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry Systems Based on Self-Sweeping Fiber Laser with Continuous-Wave Intensity Dynamics

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2023
We report on the development of an optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) system based on a continuous-wave Er-doped self-sweeping fiber laser. In this work, we investigate the influence of the input data processing procedure in an OFDR system on ...

Incoherent Optical Frequency-Domain Reflectometry Based on Homodyne Electro-Optic Downconversion for Fiber-Optic Sensor Interrogation

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Fiber-optics sensors using interrogation based on incoherent optical frequency-domain reflectometry (I-OFDR) offer benefits such as the high stability of interference in the radio-frequency (RF) domain and the high SNR due to narrowband RF detection. One

A Universal Phase Error Analysis for Optical Frequency Tuning Lasers Utilized in Fiber Sensing with OFDR

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
As optical fiber sensing has attracted increasing attention due to its advantages such as high accuracy, low costs, and stability, its optical source judgment has become an attractive issue by which to characterize its performance.

OFDR diagnostics for fibre and integrated-optic systems

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1985
Optical frequency-domain reflectometry (OFDR) shows promise as a diagnostic tool for high-resolution ranging in fibre/integrated-optic systems, and in high-resolution distributed fibre-optic sensors. We discuss some signal processing aspects of this technology, potential performance and application.

Design of an OFDR-based full-area intelligent and precise temperature measurement system for belt conveyors

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua
Rapid and precise measurement of temperature along the belt conveyor plays a core role in preventing external fire hazards in coal mines. Distributed optical fiber temperature measurement based on Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) is currently the

Distributed Refractive Index Sensing Based on Etched Ge-Doped SMF in Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry

open access: yesSensors, 2023
A distributed optical fiber refractive index sensor based on etched Ge-doped SMF in optical frequency domain reflection (OFDR) was proposed and demonstrated. The etched Ge-doped SMF was obtained by only using wet-etching, i.e., hydrofluoric acid solution.

Decoding Dual Regulatory Layers: Integrating Differential Expression and Alternative Splicing Dynamics in the Evolution of Laryngeal Echolocation Across Chiropteran Lineages

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We integrated short‐read and long‐read RNA‐seq data from cochlear tissues of echolocating and non‐echolocating bats to disentangle transcriptional and post‐transcriptional regulation. Echolocating bats showed neural‐function enrichment among differentially expressed genes, while alternatively spliced genes were linked to epigenetic regulation. Overlaps
