Off-Road Vehicle Mobility Evaluation
2023<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">This practice emphasizes those qualitative and quantitative evaluations essential in determining a vehicle's ability to meet demands placed on it by off-road environments. It considers the major factors that directly influence mobility performance.</div></div>

Introduction to Off-road Vehicles
2016Off-road and on-road vehicles are two major subclasses of unguided ground vehicles which can freely traverse over ground usually by a driver if they are not controlled through programming and artificial intelligence.

DEVELOPMENT OF OFF-ROAD VEHICLES
2003The National Academy of Engineering named the 20 greatest engineeringachievements of the 20th century (Inside ASAE, 2000). Agricultural mechanizationwas ranked seventh ahead of computers, the telephone and spacecraft. Developmentand use of off-road vehicles, primarily the agricultural tractor, played a major role inthe agricultural mechanization ...

Dynamic stability of off-road vehicles
2004 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37566), 2005This paper offers a unified measure for dynamic stability of off-road vehicles that accounts for the tendency to tipover, slide, or loose contact with ground during static equilibrium and in motion. The contacts between the vehicle and ground are assumed rigid, and all wheels are assumed active.

Dynamic analysis of off-road vehicles
2005This paper deals with the simulation of off-road robots while taking into account the mechanical behavior of the locomotion system and its interaction with its environment. This interaction is studied and discussed for different behaviors of wheel-soil contact.

An Off-Road Competition Hydraulic Vehicle
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002<div class="htmlview paragraph">A 4-wheel drive off-road vehicle was designed and fabricated using extensive hydraulic technology for the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Mini-Baja competition. The vehicle incorporates an open hydrostatic transmission using a single pump and four independent drive motors.

Series Hybrid Off-Road Vehicle Design
2014HORV-Tech is converting a 1982 Honda Odyssey ATV from its original two-stroke internal combustion engine powertrain to a series-hybrid powertrain. In order to establish design objectives, testing was performed on the original vehicle to determine the performance capabilities which must be met or exceeded by the hybrid-powertrain-equipped vehicle. Using

Off-Road Stability of Recreational Vehicles
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1979<div class="htmlview paragraph">An attempt is made to describe the stability of vehicles on very rough terrain that may have large slopes. The basic premise of the paper is that the theory of ship stability is more applicable to problems of this kind than the traditional on-read vehicle stability theories.

Rolling Resistance of Off‐Road Vehicles
Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, 1988The rolling resistance (\IRR\N) of vehicles operating off-road is, despite its significance, an uncertain factor in haul-time and productivity estimates. The rule-of-thumb formula used for estimating the \IRR\N consistently underestimates the \IRR\N of free-rolling (nondriven) tires.
