Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Offline Signature Verification for Arabic Language [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Biometrics relies on biological features (e.g. finger print, iris or the retina) or behavioral features (voice, signature). Those features can be used for identity verification for an individual.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Distribution of local curvature values as a structural feature for off-line handwritten signature verification

open access: yesСистемный анализ и прикладная информатика, 2023
In the paper, a new feature for describing a digital image of a handwritten signature based on the frequency distribution of the values of the local curvature of the signature contours, is proposed.

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

Feature selection method based on quantum inspired genetic algorithm for Arabic signature verification

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences, 2023
The signature is a behavioral-based human characteristics that is extensively used as legal evidence of identification on bank checks, credit cards, and wills. Developing a good offline signature verification (OSV) system is essential to avoid fraud. Due
