Recreational use of offshore wind farms: Experiences and opinions of sea anglers in the UK [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Policy, 2017
The expansion of offshore wind farms (OWFs) is likely to increase conflict with other marine users as different sectors compete for space. There may also be positive interactions, as the artificial reef effects from energy infrastructure have the potential to

The importance of ultra far angle for a successful AVO Inversion offshore Israel

Third EAGE Eastern Mediterranean Workshop, 2021
Summary The Karish – 1well discovered a gas accumulation located offshore Israel. The Karish structure is being appraised and producing wells are planned to be placed in the optimum locations for maximum recovery. Seismic inversion was crucial in understanding the reservoir quality and distribution within the Karish structure.

The Effect of Welding Angle for Acoustic Emission Propagation in Offshore Jacket Platform

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Considering the requirement of NDT for offshore jacket platform, the effection of welding angle to the propagation characteristic of acoustic emission (AE) is studied. Amplitude and energy are the main analysis parameters for the experiment. As used wildly in jacket structure, the 90 and 45 degrees welding angle are discussed.

Evaluation of the Ice Load Acting on an Arctic Offshore Structure With Different Ice Drifting Angle

Volume 7: Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology, 2020
Abstract In this study, an evaluation method and results for ice load acting on an Arctic offshore structure with various ice drifting angles are discussed. Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO) has conducted a research project to develop a hull form design for year-round floating type offshore structures in the

High Angle Directional Drilling With 9 5/8-in. Casing in Offshore Qatar

SPE/IADC Drilling Conference and Exhibition, 2009
Abstract Programs which require drilling through unstable formations at high angle before entering the productive zone for a horizontal well are becoming more common. Casing while drilling is becoming a powerful method in mitigating both lost circulation as well as wellbore stability issues in offshore directional wells ...

Numerical Investigation of Effects of Bow Flare Angle on Greenwater Overtopping a Fixed Offshore Vessel

Volume 1: Offshore Technology, 2018
The effect of bow flare angle on greenwater overtopping is numerically investigated using CFD with a VOF surface capturing scheme. A two dimensional fixed rectangular box with a flare angle is adopted to represent a Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSO) with flare. Deep water conditions are assumed.

Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Dynamics: Large-Angle Motions in Euler-Space

Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, 2012
Floating structures have been proposed to support offshore wind turbines in deep water, where environmental forcing could subject the rotor to meaningful angular displacements in both precession and nutation, offering design challenges beyond conventional bottom-founded structures.

Challenges and Redesign Requirements Drilling High Angle Surface Holes in Giant Offshore Oilfield

Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, 2014
Abstract The island development strategy of the giant offshore oilfield requires the use of extended reach drilling (ERD) design wells. Compared to the typical wells drilled from the wellhead towers in the same field, higher inclinations are required in both the surface hole and intermediate hole to facilitate drilling three dimensional ...
