Coordinated Control of DC Grid and Offshore Wind Farms to Improve Rotor-Angle Stability

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2018
This paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for voltage source converter based dc grids and offshore wind farms connected by the dc grids. The strategy could enhance the stability of the onshore synchronous power system subjected to disturbances. Based on the mathematical model of dc grid connected power system and control Lyapunov function, the

Foam Recompletion of High-Angle, Low-Pressure Dry Gas Wells, Offshore Louisiana

SPE Production Operations Symposium, 1989
ABSTRACT Planning and executing recompletions in low pressure reservoirs (less than 4 lbm/gal equivalent) present operators with several challenging conditions. These include the necessity to protect against formation damage and fluid loss when using low density brines and well control when using foam as the completion fluid.

Crustal structure from offshore wide-angle seismic data: Application to South Yellow Sea

2020

South Yellow Sea was a component of the circum-Pacific continental margin active belt, developing on the marine basement during pre-Paleozoic and mid-Paleozoic. The lack of detail in the offshore seismic model in the crustal levels means that the deep structure remains ambiguous.

Joint PP-PS angle-stack analysis and AVA inversion in Grane Field, offshore Norway

The Leading Edge, 2010
Eleven years ago, publication of the UK North Sea Alba Field OBC converted-wave (PS) image examples by MacLeod et al. caused quite a stir. The authors provided convincing evidence that “the Alba survey is the first 3D OBC survey in which successful converted-wave imaging of the reservoir has created significant economic benefit.” Most of us with an ...

Evidence for low-angle, subhorizontal hanging faults in rotated fault blocks, Cabinda, offshore Angola

The Leading Edge, 2002
Extensional structures that include normal faults whose dip decreases with depth are well known in the West African passive margin. The faults detach on the Aptian-aged Loeme salt layer. Rotation and faulting of the hanging-wall blocks has produced hydrocarbon trap geometries that hold several billion barrels of reserves.

Integrated multiple wave impedance model of offshore wind turbine considering blade rotation angle

2016 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application (ICHVE), 2016
Lightning disaster is one of the main factors threatening the safe and stable operation of wind farms. In order to reduce the lightning failure rate of offshore Wind Turbine (WT), the response patterns and influencing factors of transient overvoltage must be accurately analyzed.

New refraction/wide-angle reflection profile across the Teisseyre-Tornquist Zone offshore Poland

2020

The southern Baltic Sea area is located in the transition zone between the East European Craton (EEC; Baltica) and the West European Platform (Avalonia). The most prominent tectonic feature in the area is the NW–SE trending Tornquist Zone (TZ), crossing the southern Baltic Sea area between Scania in Sweden and ...
